Dear FEG members,
It is time for me to hand over the controls of the FEG to a new Secretary, namely Dr. Alan Jones of Earthwatch, Oxford. Alan is a Visiting Research Associate at the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford, and Research Manager for the Wytham Woods Long-term Carbon Dynamics Monitoring project, which I helped establish in 2007. Alan ran an excellent FEG-sponsored event on Wytham research earlier in the year. Hence, Alan is a natural choice to succeed me as FEG Secretary.
It has been a great pleasure working on the FEG blog, with support from Thomas Starnes on the Twitter account (@BESForests) and Martha Crockatt on the Facebook group. As of today I will be relaxing with a cocktail on my private island in the Caribbean. I look forward to great things from FEG under Alan’s leadership.
I hope to see many of you at our social event at the Annual Meeting in Edinburgh!
All the best,
Dan
Congratuations! You’ve done a great job these last three years. We should have an ex-secrataries drink together in Edinburgh and wind up Alan about what he’s signed up to.
Absolutely: you can be Grandpa Abe, I’ll be Homer and Alan can be Bart. See you at the Jolly Botanist!
Hi Dan Just to say thanks for all your efforts on behalf of the BES FEG in what must have seemed a thankless task at times. Cheers John Jackson
Cheers John!
