Register now: Demography Beyond the Population

From Sean McMahon

I would like to announce an exciting upcoming symposium “Demography beyond the Population”, organized by some colleagues and me, and sponsored by the BES. The symposium will take place in Sheffield, UK on March 24-26. The abstract submission deadline is quickly approaching: Feb 1st.

Invited speakers include Steve Ellner, Maria Uriarte, Drew Purves, Yvonne Buckley, Shripad Tuljapurkar, Elizabeth Crone and Hal Caswell, among others. In addition, the symposium will be preceded by four workshops on March 23rd on IPMs, matrix models, Bayesian survival analyses and evolutionary analyses of structured population models. There’ll be plenty of social events, break-out groups, poster sessions and lightning talks.

Register for the Symposium here.

A number of presenters in this symposium will be invited to submit their works for consideration in the first-ever cross-BES journals Special Feature.

We hope that you will be away to attend, and please send students as well!
