Abstract Submission: Ecology and Evolution of Emerging Plant Pests and Pathogens

The Symposium invites oral presentations and posters on any of the following topics:

  • Current distributions and impacts of emerging plant pests and pathogens (EPPPs) on agriculture and forestry
  • The evolution of virulence and pathogenicity in EPPPs
  • The molecular basis of plant-enemy interactions
  • Host selection, host specificity, and host jumps
  • Vectors, co-infection, and host-antagonistic interactions
  • Endophytes, predators, and host-beneficial interactions
  • The effects of weather and climate change on EPPP distributions and impact
  • Roles of biological and environmental factors in dispersal
  • Molecular methods for detection and identification
  • Remote sensing of EPPPs and their effects
  • New horizons in plant protection
  • International monitoring networks and capacity building
  • Agricultural policies to limit the impact of EPPPs

Abstracts submitted for consideration will be reviewed by the organizing committee. Those not accepted for oral presentation may be offered as posters.
